Review Of: Making the Cut
*NO SPOILERS* In this blog post I will be sharing a summary of Making the Cut, giving a quick review of the show, and sharing some of my opinions on the show.
Summary of the show:
The show consisted of 12 contestants that were competing against each other. They traveled to three different countries to compete to win $1 million dollars for their brand. The contestants were given a different "challenge" each week and then they were given a fashion show, where they would be judged. The judges consisted of Heidi Klum, Naomi Campbell, Joseph Altuzarra, Nicole Richie, Carine Roitfeld, and Chiara Ferragni. Also, the winner would be able to have a collection sold on Amazon Fashion, along with mentorship.
My opinions about the show:
Being a huge fan of Project Runway, I was really bummed out to hear that Tim and Heidi were leaving the show. So, when I found out that they were creating their own show with Amazon I was so happy. I had really high expectations for the show after watching Project Runway for so long, and Making the Cut did not let me down.
From the beginning of the season, I was immediately wrapped up in the show and was excited to watch the next episode. I knew immediately from the beginning who my favorite designers were. All of the designers (pretty much) were absolutely amazing and I thought that their designs were really innovative. There were some designers that I wasn't a big fan of from the start, but that happens with any show.
Another thing I really enjoyed about the show, was that all of the challenges were really unique and well thought out. The travel throughout the show gave a fun twist that kept you intrigued and interested to watch.
Overall, I really enjoyed the show and I am hoping that there will be a season two. I think that this was a great "next step" for Heidi and Tim from project runway. Making the Cut was excellently produced and the ideas behind it were great.
