Ways To Help The BLM Movement!

In today's post, I am taking a quick break from fashion to give you options and ways to support BLM and do your part, if unable to protest!

Many people (like myself) are unable to protest, and if you are here are some ways you can help/do your part!

Petition Signing: Signing petitions is one of the amazing ways to help get laws passed or even noticed in the first place. An example of this is getting *some* Justice for George Floyd. David Chauvin was arrested/charged because of the many petitions that were signed.

Some petitions that need your signature:

  1. Justice for Breonna Taylor:

2. Justice for Tamir Rice:

3. I want Sandra Bland's case reopened. :

4. 8 Can't Wait: Search for your city on

5. Make the KKK Illegal:

Educate Yourself: There are many ways you can do this. Listen to the stories and experiences of POC in your community and POC that you know. Learn to understand the issues without negating the experiences of POC. And lastly, probably one of the most popular, READ BOOKS!

Below I am going to list some of the most popular and loved books on the topic of race, white privilege, and how you can learn to become anti-racist:

#1: How to Be an Antiracist by Ibram X. Kendi

#2: White Rage by Carol Anderson

#3: So You Want to Talk About Race by Ijeoma Oluo

#4: White Fragility by Robin DiAngelo

*When you buy these books, look for local Black-Owned Bookstores*

Support Black-Owned Businesses:

Like I said previously about the bookstores applies to any stores possible! Now specifically, as well as continuing to the future, is the time to support local black owned businesses. I will be posting more on this blog about different small, black-owned fashion brands and businesses that you can support when looking for some new pieces (jewelry, clothing, etc.). Examples of businesses you can support are:

  • Coffee Shops

  • Bookstores

  • Clothing Stores

  • Restauraunts

  • Etc.

I hope you guys found this post helpful and that a lot of you will be doing your part in the future! Thank you so much for reading this post and in the future I will be posting more fashion related ways you can help.

Don't forget to sign up for the mailing list and to share this post with a friend.

Thank you so for your support and remember, Black Lives Matter
